Medford Area Drug and Gang Enforcement makes 9lb meth bust

Central Point, Ore. — Medford Area Drug and Gang Enforcement arrested 29-year-old Ivan Rojas-Hernandez on March 7th. He is being charged with unlawful possession and delivery of methamphetamine.

MADGE officers say they approached Rojas-Hernandez in the Pilot parking lot in Central Point and requested to look in his travel bag. They say they found 9.24 pounds of methamphetamine, an estimated $180,000 value.

Rojas-Hernandez was traveling on a commercial bus line when he was stopped. Currently, Rojas-Hernandez is being held at the Jackson County Jail on $100,000 bail.

A second unclaimed bag, not associated with the Rojas-Hernandez’s bag, was also seized from the bus. MADGE officials obtained a search warrant for the bag and found 1.74 pounds of Heroin worth $50,000 on street value as well as 2.2 pounds of methamphetamine worth a street value of $40,000.

MADGE is investigating who transported this bag.
