Medford Police investigate death at hotel

Medford, Ore. — A death investigation is under way at a popular Medford hotel. Police say a 29 year old man was found by police in his hotel room at the ‘Inn at the Commons’ on Monday morning.

Authorities say the man’s coworkers called police when he didn’t show up for work. When officers arrived, they found him dead inside the room’s bathroom.

Police have not released his name, but described him as a 29 year old man, who moved to the Rogue Valley for work. His family is in Wyoming, and he doesn’t have any other connections to the Valley. Police don’t suspect foul play. They’re investigating if his death could be drug related.

“There was some paraphernalia that was in the room, that we are going to investigate, we’re not sure if this is a drug related death, but we’re going to investigate into that,” Lieutenant Kevin Walruff said.

Police said they’ll know more after an autopsy is completed. They said the toxicology report will likely help determine the cause. That should be available sometime in the next week.

Anyone with information is asked to call MPD.
