Missing plane with body found in Linn County

Linn County, Ore. –Searchers looking for a missing single-engine plane said they found a body in the wreckage in Linn County on Friday.

Sheriff Bruce Riley sent in a ground team to verify that it was the Piper PA-28 Cherokee that was reported missing on Tuesday evening.

The body found in the wreckage has not been identified. The Oregon Civil Air Patrol says the plane, piloted by 41-year-old Lee Cheshire Leslie of Vancouver, left Hobby Field in Creswell late Tuesday afternoon and was supposed to land in Vancouver an hour later.
