Nordstrom fires employee for violent Facebook post

Portland, Ore. — Nordstrom fired a worker in Portland who advocated killing police officers on his personal Facebook page.

Nordstrom is doing damage control after a comment posted by an employee on his personal Facebook page, in response to recent police shootings, Aaron Hodges suggested: “every time an unarmed black man is killed, you kill a decorated white officer, on his door step in front of his family.”

Hodges has since taken down his Facebook and Twitter accounts, but a screen shot has been circulating online and drawn harsh response. Critics have since gone after Nordstrom, where Hodges proudly worked at the company’s downtown Portland location, his personal Facebook page included a photo and link to the retailer.

Nordstrom apologized on social media and explained the employee has been fired, in a statement, the retailer explains “we do not tolerate violence, violent conversation or threats of any kind.”
