Oregon State Police will be working overtime to decrease fatal accidents on oregon’s deadliest roads.
the Oregon Department of Transportation provided the funding to OSPin an effort to decrease fatal traffic accidents due to roadway departure…which is a crash that involves a vehicle leaving the traveled portion of the roadway.
53 percent of all fatal traffic crashes last year were due to roadway departure.
The funding will provide 1,600 additional patrol hours on sections of Oregon’s roads that have been deemed the most deadly.
