One student killed, teacher injured at Reynolds High School

Update (6/10 5:00 pm)The Reynolds High School shooting victim has been identified as 14-year-old Emilio Hoffman. Hoffman was shot and killed in the boys locker room.

The shooter was found dead in a different room. Police have identified the shooter but they will not release a name or age yet.

Reynolds High School will be closed until further notice so police can continue the investigation.

Update (6/10 12:00pm) The Troutdale Police Chief Scott Anderson confirmed the shooter’s weapon was a rifle. The Reynolds School District is providing counselors for students to speak to. Teacher and track coach Todd Rispler was grazed by a bullet but was not seriously hurt.

Update (6/10 10am)Police have confirmed that one student and the shooter are dead. SWAT teams are working to clear the school room-by-room.

Parents are waiting to receive students in a Wood Village Fred Meyer parking lost. School district warning it may take up to two hours for students to get to their parents.

Update (6/10 9:20am)Police have confirmed that a shooter is dead. SWAT team going through school room-by-room. Students are being sent to Wood Village Fred Meyer for parents to pick them up.

SWAT teams were working their way through the school, releasing students from classrooms who are leaving with their hands over their heads.

Lifeflight landed near the school but has yet to transport a patient.

Troutdale, Ore. — (KGW) Police responded shortly after 8 a.m. to a report of shots fired at Reynolds High School.

A number of emergency vehicles have been staged near the school. A significant number of officers have arrived and surrounded the school.

A MultnomahCounty sheriff’s office spokesman confirms the response is for an active shooter.

A student tweeted that the school is in lockdown and a number of police cars have rolled up. A second student has tweeted that she heard gunfire. A third reported a police officer racing towards the school’s gymnasium.
