Update (6:45pm 6/10): There are still more questions than answers tonight after an officer involved shooting in Ashland.
Five different law enforcement agencies lined Mistletoe Road a little after 10 a.m. Tuesday responding to what the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department said was an officer involved shooting.
The sheriff’s office said the shooting happened at the mobile home on 35 Mistletoe Road.
Employees at Blackstone Audio right next to the home where it all happened said they saw officers with assault rifles hurrying to get to the property.
Alan Weiss, an employee at Blackstone, said the man who lives in the home has ‘no trespassing’ signs on his fence.
“He’s also got American flags hanging upside down on his property. He almost had like an anarchist kind of attitude it seemed like,” Weiss said.
The sheriff’s office confirmed that it was an officer involved shooting, but they couldn’t say much more. They declined comment on who fired shots and who, if anyone, was injured in the shooting.
But one deputy said no law enforcement officers were injured.
Employees at Blackstone Audio said they did see someone taken from the property in an ambulance.
According to federal documents obtained by NBC5 News the home was owned by a man named Earl Harris, but he’s been fighting foreclosure.
We don’t know if Harris was involved in todays incident.
Ashland, Ore. — Multiple agencies responded to an officer involved shooting in Ashland this morning. Officials say the incident was between an officer and a man who lives in a trailer on Mistletoe Road.
The officer is not hurt and it is unknown if there are any other injuries. Oregon State Police is leading the investigation.
