Police find Canyonville shooting suspect’s car, suspect still on loose

Canyonville, Ore. — The Douglas County Sheriff Office is looking for a man they consider armed and dangerous.

They say 39 year-old David Baumgaertel opened fire on another man’s car on January 29th hitting him in the face at least once. The victim survived the shooting.

Detectives believe the two men knew each other.

Friday, a tip led deputies to the Canyonville apartment where they found Baumgaertel’s red Honda Civic.

Officers searched several apartments but were unable to locate him.

Call police immediately if you have any information on his whereabouts. He should be considered armed and dangerous.
