RCC inspects glass panels after students injured

Medford, Ore. — The Rogue Community College student injured after a panel of glass crashed down from a campus building ceiling was back at school Tuesday night.

It happened Monday at the Higher Education Center on RCC’s downtown Medford campus.

Tuesday, crews put up scaffolding so engineers could inspect each piece of glass on every floor, to make sure they’re secure.

RCC’s Dean of Education Linda Renfro said while they investigate, the atrium will be closed “We may end up replacing some of the panels. We won’t know till it gets inspected and we get a seal of approval and then we will open it up again, but in the meanwhile, it will remain closed.”

At this point, it’s unknown who or what is to blame for the falling glass.

An answer could come after engineers inspect the glass panels.
