Siskiyou County, Cal. — Search and rescue crews in northern California are now on their third day looking fora woman from Portland who they think is hurt and in danger.
27 year-old Grace Sabots went missing Saturday.
The Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Department says they made contact with her last Friday and tried to check back in with her Saturday, but she was nowhere to be found.
Sheriff deputies say they found evidence around her vehicle that she was possibly in danger or injured. They won’t comment on what exactly thatevidence is or if anyone else is possibly involved.
But they do say fresh footprints were found at the Skeahan Bar River Access, entering the river but none exiting.
The search expands about 11 miles along the Klamath River.
The weather is putting a damper on the search efforts.
The overcast skies mean helicopters can’t search from above.
Because it’s raining the water is murky, diver’s can’t go in the water.
Meaning crews are left searching by foot. Much of the river bank is overgrown with vegetation, making that even difficult.
Sabots is described as 5’3” weighing about 130 pounds with blue eyes and brown hair.
The sheriff’s office says they’re still trying to determine why Sabot’s in Siskiyou County.
