Sex offender arrested for sexually harassing woman in Target

Medford, Ore — A 21 year-old female reported to a Medford Police officer that she was shopping in Target when an unknown male suddenly pushed his pelvis against her buttocks as she bent down to look at some merchandise on March 29th.

Police say the female victim, who is involved in law enforcement, confronted the male who said the contact was accidental and left quickly. The female victim immediately notified employees of the incident, but the suspect was able to get out of the store without being apprehended.

Target security personnel provided images of the suspect from surveillance video to police who then shared the images with other law enforcement agencies. A Parole Officer with Jackson County Community Justice recognized the suspect as David Reynolds, a registered sex offender who used to be supervised through their agency.

After hearing that police were looking for him, Reynolds went to the Medford Police Department on Friday, April 11th.

Reynolds admitted to his involvement in this case, and admitted to contact was for sexual gratification. Police believe he has done this to dozens of other women in a similar manner in department or grocery stores.

Police are asking if any additional victims recognize the suspect or this behavior to call the Medford Police Department.
