Smoke in Rogue Valley originates from wildfires burning over 5,000 miles away

Medford, Ore. –Not only have we seen above normal temperatures over the past couple of days but a haze has also been covering the Rogue Valley.

The National Weather Service says that haze is actually smoke from wildfires more than 5,000 away in Siberia.

The wildfires there have burned more than 300,000 acres and have destroyed more than 1,500 homes.

The National Weather Service says cooler temperatures and a chance of showers could move the smoke out of the valley as early as tomorrow.
