Snowpack rebounds

Oregon’s snowpack has made a dramatic rebound doubling in just the last 16 days. There is considerably more snow in the state than there was just over two weeks ago, sixty percent of average.

The new snow levels are good for water supply and businesses that depend on winter weather. Snowpack contributes 75 to 80 percentof the state’s water supply.

January snow is also being welcomed by Mt. Ashland and Mt. Shasta Ski resorts that struggled through a dry December. Mt Ashland opened, then closed for several weeks due to the lack of snowfall last month.
