Suspected Stolen Property Recovered In SWAT Raid

An early morning raid by a SWAT team in Klamath Falls leads to the seizure of drugs, guns, and suspected stolen property…and two people are in jail tonight following that raid.

Sharon Harkema didn’t think she’d ever get her metal ship back after it was stolen…

“I thought it was gone. I kept praying that it wasn’t tore up, or used for metal, or some dumb thing – at least they used it for art.”

The ship was one of many items seized during a raid that too place shortly before 9:AM at a home near Shasta Way and Homedale Road.

Neighbor Kathy Cobb witnessed the officers arriving, and heard the sound of the ‘flash bang’ grenades…

“Just looked out the window, and all these cops showed up in my driveway, and in front of their house – and a couple big bangs.”

Sergeant Ryan Huntsman of the Klamath County Sheriff’s Office says the raid marked the end of a two month long investigation…

“This morning Klamath County Sheriff’s Office served a search warrant for trafficking in stolen property, and narcotics violations at 5417 Shasta Way.”

Police arrested Aaron Andrews on multiple charges.

Samantha Valentine was also arrested by Sheriff’s deputies.

Detective Eric Shepherd of the Klamath County Sheriff’s Office says a small amount of meth was seized during the raid…

“There was also a 357 revolver. It was a Taurus, and the serial number was removed.”

Police are now processing suspected stolen property, which includes tools, jewelry, antique coins, a comic book collection, motor bikes, a military medal…and Sharon Harkema’s metal ship, which is now sailing home…

“I just think the world of these guys.”

Some of the stolen items have been linked to other crimes…and more arrests are possible.

Charges against Andrews and Valentine include first-degree theft, possession of a prohibited firearm, and possession of a controlled substance.
