Think the Christmas Shopping Frenzy is Over? Think Again!

Christmas may be over but the holiday shopping frenzy is spilling over into the day after Christmas as people make their returns and exchanges, all while crossing their fingers for more deals.

Over at the Blackbird Shopping Center in Medford, Diana Alexender has been a checker for the last 13 years.

Like every other year on the day after Christmas, it’s busy.

“We’re doing very well, people are coming in and getting some deals a little bit of exchanges,” began Alexander.

The store has seen some returns too, but not nearly as many as in years past.

“We used to have lines. We’d have to set up a register just for returns,” said Alexander.

Now things are changing thanks to the gift of gift cards.

“The customer can come in and get just what they want,” Alexander said.

In fact experts believe across the U.S. nearly $30-billion in gift cards were left under the tree this year.

In addition, retailers are luring shoppers in with deals and discounts. Businesses are hoping to end this holiday season with a bang.

It’s expected the best deals wooing bargain hunters across the United States will be on everything from clothes, to toys, to shoes, and even in some cases gas!
