(WFIE) Bryan Rupp is a regular at the Sam’s Club gas station in Evansville, Indiana, but the stop he made last Thursday was unlike any other. He was filling up his tank when he says an older man parked next to him and got out.
“He said, ‘I lost my billfold. I don’t know what to do. I lost everything,'” said Bryan.
83-year-old Korean war veteran and retired pastor Carl Ricks was 850 miles away from home in Lakeland, Florida, and needed help.
He was frustrated.
“Didn’t know that I would ever see my billfold again,” Carl recalled.
“I knew right then that I was gonna stick with him. I wasn’t going to leave him,” Bryan said.
