Wounded Deputy’s condition improves to ‘fair’

Klamath Falls, Ore. – Good news to report on the condition of a Klamath County Sheriff’s deputy who was shot and wounded in the line of duty last week.

O.H.S.U. lists Deputy Jason Weber’s condition as ‘fair’, and they are confirming that Weber is now out of the intensive care unit.

30 year old William ‘Jack’ Parkerson and 33 year old Karey Leigh Pascoe are both charged in connection with last week’s shooting and wounding of Deputy Jason Weber.

“Both of these matters are going to be presented to the grand jury tomorrow, on Thursday.” Says Klamath County District Attorney Rob Patridge. “And we anticipate then arraigning both of these suspects on Friday.”

Prosecutors say the motive behind the shooting is still unclear.

While Parkerson has gang-related tattoos, the D.A. doesn’t believe the shooting was gang related…

“I don’t have any evidence at this point in time that would indicate that. Certainly those types of tattoos are disconcerting.”

The shooting took place during a routine traffic stop.

District Attorney Patridge says police are hoping to learn from the situation…

“I think anytime we have something like this happen, we should always review the procedures that we do, review the training that we do.”

Parkerson and Pascoe’s bail remains at 10 million dollars.
