Man arrested for public indecency in Grants Pass

GRANTS PASS, Ore. – After an investigation, police in Grants Pass arrested a man for public indecency.

According to the Grants Pass Department of Public Safety, a man exposed his genitals to two juvenile girls while they were walking through Reinhardt Park on August 3.

The girls followed the man to a residence and called police, who were able to identify the man as 54-year-old John Odell.

Detectives took over the case and gathered evidence until an August 21 interview with Odell. That’s where he was arrested for public indecency and lodged in the Josephine County Jail.

“The Grants Pass Department of Public Safety appreciates information about crimes in progress, however would not suggest putting yourself in danger to update responding units,” officers said. “Anyone with further information on this, or similar matters involving Odell, are encouraged to contact detectives at 541-450-6260.”
