Measure 15-141 to restore RVTD services

Medford, Ore.–A tax levy that would fund the Rogue Valley Transportation District or RVTD is up to voters.

In 2014 RVTD got rid of Saturday and evening services due to a lack of funding and the narrow defeat of a similar levy.  Route 10, that takes passengers from Medford to Ashland has also had to cut back its frequency.

Measure 15-141 would cost 13 cents per $1,000 of property value each year for five years.  That’s $26 a year for a $200,000 home.

If passed, Saturday and evening services will be restored, along with more Route 10 services.  The levy would also expand service to Southwest Medford, Asante Medical Center, and RCC White City Campus.  If the levy fails, RVTD says they will cut more services in 2018.
