Update (02/18, 4:35pm) – The Cottage Grove Police Department has reported that a deceased person they believe to be John Jarrell has been found in the foothills approximately 25 miles southeast of Cottage Grove. They say positive identification is still pending, and there is no evidence of foul play.

Cottage Grove, Ore. – The Cottage Grove Police Department is seeking any information about 38-year-old John Jarrell, a man missing since September, 2015.

Police describe Jarrell as 6’0”, brown hair, green eyes, and a beard. He drives a white Chevrolet S-10 Blazer with a damaged bumper and license plate VSF 329 or 285 GAH.

According to officers, he may have gone into the National Forest in Jackson or Josephine counties. He may have also gone into the foothills east of Cottage Grove.

Jarrell is reported to have lived in the Rogue Valley all of his life, before moving to Cottage Grove in April of 2015.
