Wyden & Merkley working to make college affordable

-d3627a7d3c025f24Ore. — Oregon’s U.S. Senator’s Ron Wyden and Jeff Merkley introduced legislation Wednesday to make college more affordable for students and families in Oregon and across the country.

Last week the senators visited Southern Oregon University, the University of Oregon and Lane Community College to discuss the rising costs of tuition and ways to make college more affordable for families.

Senator Merkley explained his plan to us last week in the 5 on 5 feature interview:

“Use this income based repayment where you cap the percentage of disposable income, achieves the same objective which is to say that you are not going to be crushed by college debt.”
