Riddle man stabbed in the neck, police searching for suspect

0830 investigationDouglas County, Ore. – The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said deputies responded to the Boar’s Head Tavern around 11:00 Thursday night to a reported stabbing.

Deputies said the victim, 36-year-old Anton Berard from Riddle, got into an argument with an unidentified man. During the altercation, the unidentified man stabbed the Berard in the neck and fled the scene. He has not yet been located.

Berard was treated at a local hospital and has since been released

According to DCSO, Berard and the suspect were both living in the same apartment complex above the tavern, but they did not know each other well.

The suspect was last seen wearing khaki shorts and a white tank top. He is described by deputies at 5’9” with a medium build and numerous tattoos.
