S.O. Swing Convention set to begin

Medford, Ore. — Get up and dance! That’s the message from members of the Southern Oregon Swing Convention happening this weekend.

Hundreds of people are converging at the Inn at the Commons in Medford beginning Friday to dance 24 hours a day through Sunday, and get some added health benefits.

NBC5 medical expert Doctor Robin Miller will be there and she told NBC5 News that dancing just 2 to 3 times a week reduces the risk of Alzhiemers by 76%. She said, “It’s that interaction between partners that really helps your brain to make new pathways, your actually building new brain cells while you dance.”

West Coast Swing involves dancing to all different genres, including contemporary, jazz, and even country. Anyone is welcome to stop by.
