LINN COUNTY, Ore. – A wildfire in Linn County is now 100% lined.

The Santiam Park Fire was first reported Tuesday afternoon near the North Santiam State Recreational Area.

As firefighters rushed to establish control, high winds pushed the Santiam Park Fire over the Santiam River, threatening homes and structures in Linn and Marion Counties. Level 3 (go) evacuation warnings were issued for some residents threatened by the fire.

By Wednesday morning the Level 3 notices were reduced to Level 2, allowing residents to return to their homes.

Thursday evening, the Oregon Department of Forestry announced the fire was 100% lined and holding at 189 acres in size.

No structures were lost and no injuries were reported.

Because the fire was in an area that’s frequented by the public, ODF is making rehabilitating the land a priority.
