EXCLUSIVE: Senator Ron Wyden formally endorses Clinton

WYDEN PICMedford, Ore. — Senator Ron Wyden was in Medford on Saturday, to meet with Planned Parenthood staff, and to make a big announcement. In an exclusive interview with NBC5 News, Senator Wyden publicly endorsed Democratic Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.

“I think now is the time, people are going to start voting,  Iowa caucuses begin, we’ve got the Oregon primary coming up,” Senator Wyden said. “I just want to make it clear that I’m in her corner.”

Senator Wyden noted that he has always supported Clinton, however, now that voting season is around the corner, he believes it’s time to make the endorsement.

“I think she’s somebody who’s going to be able on day one to come on in there, and build coalitions to tackle the important issues of our time,” Senator Wyden said.

Saturday afternoon, the senator visited Planned Parenthood in downtown Medford. There, he addressed a crowd, advocating for easier access to family planning services.
