Shocked parents deliver their own daughter at home

Medford, Ore. — A Medford couple got quite the surprise Monday morning, when their daughter arrived before they could get to the hospital! Dillon and Tiffany Farley learned the true meaning of teamwork, when Tiffany’s water broke, and they had to deliver the baby themselves.

Dillon says he immediately called 911, and was helped through the process by a knowledgeable dispatcher. Next thing they knew, their daughter Parker was in his arms.

“I was pushing, and he caught her, and so it was just a lot of trust,” Tiffany said. “Me trusting him, him knowing what he was doing.”

Medford Fire Rescue arrived 30 seconds later, just in time to cut the umbilical cord. Mother and baby were then taken to the Providence Birthplace, and both are doing great. Parker is the couple’s second child, weighing in at 6 pounds, 7 ounces, and 20-point-5 inches long.
