Singler Tournament brings nearly 200 basketball teams to Medford

Medford, Ore. — Basketball courts around the region were getting some good use this weekend during the Singler Tournament.

Just less than 200 hundred teams were in the Rogue Valley for the event.

It started as Kyle Singler’s Senior project 10 years ago with just 16 teams.  Now — teams from all over Oregon, Washington, and Northern California make the weekend trip to compete.

“It’s just good to hear that teams that come back just saying, ‘oh, this is our favorite tournament of the year,’ and something they look forward to. It’s just really cool to hear that and it just makes us feel good, to keep on doing it,” said organizer and professional basketball player E.J. Singler.

Organizers say the tournament is run completely by volunteers, with the help of Kids Unlimited.
