Brookings resident starts GoFundMe for kidney

MEDFORD, Ore. — One local man is fighting for his life as he waits for a kidney transplant.

27 year old Brookings resident Mike Massey, has been battling kidney problems since he was just two years old.

Massey has been matched with compatible donors but doesn’t have the funds to support the surgery.

His family and friends say they are doing all they can to make it happen.

“When I found out what was going on and what was happening with his life, I was just heartbroken over it.  I have three daughters of my own and I can’t imagine them being sick especially at the age of two, ” said Paige Villarreal, a family friend of Massey.

The Corner Club in Central Point is hosting a fundraiser for Massey on Sunday, September 30th at 2 P.M.

There is a bank account set up for Massey at Rogue Federal Credit Union.
