mark mcalisterMedford, Ore. — A Medford man is on trial in Jackson County this week, accused of trying to blow up his former Ashland pizzeria.

According to court documents, Mark McAlister and Brian Morris conspired to break a natural gas line inside McAlister’s Little Caesar’s franchise, and left a candle near the leak in an attempt to destroy it.

In an interview with police, Morris claimed McAlister offered him $10,000 to do it, allegations McAlister denies.

Morris pleaded guilty in October to attempt to commit a felony, and will be sentenced May 2nd.

McAlister is on trial this week, facing 3 counts of conspiracy to commit first-degree arson. He has pleaded not guilty to the charges.
