Truck reportedly plows into crowd on Bastille Day in France

Nice, France. (NBC) — French media said a truck ran into a crowd gathered in the Southern French town of Nice to celebrate the Bastille Day late Thursday killing at least 30 people.

BFMTV said a truck drove through people on the famed Promenade Des Anglais on the nice seafront.

The station said local authorities were treating the incident as an attack. The station also said the truck driver had been shot dead.

The local Nice-Matin newspaper reported that a truck ran into the crowd that was watching a fireworks display.
