Minnesota — (WESH) Saint Cloud police say just before midnight the homeowner was asleep in her bed, when she thought she heard an intruder enter the house and quickly began approaching her.
She fired one shot, but the intruder turned out to be her own daughter.
The daughter was taken to a local hospital where she later died from her injuries.
Police say the home owner’s account of what happened is consistent with the physical evidence and a witness’ statement, so they’re calling the shooting accidental.
