OIT student recognized for achievements at State of the Union

Among the First Lady’s guests at Tuesday night’s State of the Union was an Oregon Tech student.

24 year old Lydia Doza is a junior in software engineering at Oregon Tech. Doza is being recognized for her efforts in encouraging young Native Americans to pursue studies in engineering and technology.

“She’s been very interested in getting out and trying to make sure that high school students can see her as a successful example of a career path, of a study path,” says OIT President, Chris Maple.

Doza is active in Oregon Tech’s new ‘Stem and M’ program, which will assist high school students in pursuing technical careers.
