Willow Lake Campground temporarily evacuated due to vehicle fire

WILLOW LAKE, Ore. – Campers had to evacuate Willow Lake Campground Monday evening because of a vehicle fire.

The Oregon Department of Forestry said firefighters responded to a vehicle fire that had spread to nearby vegetation just after 5:00 p.m. on July 26.

Firefighters stopped it at a quarter of an acre and ODF says it’s fully mopped up.

No injuries were reported and the campground has since opened back up.

The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the exact cause of the fire.
