Woman accused of hitting police vehicle while drunk apologizes

Medford, Ore. — The woman accused of hitting a sheriff deputy’s cruiser while drunk is apologizing. 49-year-old Stephanie Gunter is facing several charges including DUII, assault, felony hit and run and attempt to elude a police officer.

According to Medford Police, a Jackson County sheriff’s deputy was at a stop sign on Springbrook and Cedar Links Monday night when his vehicle was hit by Gunter.

Gunter made her first appearance in court Tuesday afternoon saying, “I’m guilty of everything, I’m sorry.” The judge advised her to get an attorney before making any public statements.

Gunter is being held on $250,000 bail, she’ll be back in court on August 9th.

Police say the sheriff’s deputy was a little sore and was taken to the hospital to be checked out, but he’s okay tonight.
