Central Point, Ore — According to Central Point School District 6 classes at Crater High School were temporarily cancelled Wednesday, November 16th due to generalized threats found at the school. Graffiti could be seen on an exterior wall of the school. Law enforcement and school employees had covered the writing with cardboard.
Central Point Police said the graffiti indicated “the threat of a bomb in the school”. A perimeter was set up around the school with the assistance of the Oregon State Police bomb unit.
School officials said while they continue to investigate the source of the threat, the campus has been determined to be safe for students, staff, and all regular operations. The Crater High campus will be re-opened by 3:00 p.m. Wednesday.
All other District 6 schools will operate as normal.
