Update (06/23 5:00 p.m.) — Emergency dispatch officials have confirmed that 911 service was restored in Coos and Curry Counties late Thursday afternoon.
Coos County, Ore. — Emergency dispatchers in Coos and Curry Counties began experiencing problems with their incoming 911 calls around 9:00 Thursday morning.
According to the Curry County Sheriff’s Office, some 911 calls are not being received.
The Coos County Sheriff’s Department said on the calls that are received, the caller’s address or location is not available. Additionally, cell phone numbers of incoming calls are not available to dispatchers.
Coos County dispatch said if you have an emergency situation, be prepared to give accurate information about your location.
Frontier 911 Repair is working on the problem. The Curry County Sheriff’s Office said the situation is slowly improving.
