Leawood, Kan. — Looking to be more appealing to millennials, AMC is considering a move to allow moviegoers to text in movie theaters.
AMC Entertainment’s CEO tells Variety Magazine he’s open to making some theaters texting and mobile-device friendly.
He says a certain section where texting would be allowed is “one possibility”, but what may be more likely, is having specific auditoriums set up to be more texting friendly.
AMC Entertainment is set to become the largest movie theater operator in the world when its proposed merger with Carmike goes through later this year.
