Ashland, Ore.- Ashland’s city administrator will step down from his position on November 30, 2016. The decision was made at the request of the city’s mayor, John Stromberg.

Dave Kanner’s resignation was accepted by the city council at a special meeting Monday night. The council voted 4-2 to support the Mayor’s proposal.

According to Ashland City Charter Article 13, Section 3 – “The Mayor, with the consent of the Council, may suspend and remove any appointive officer at any time”

“Dave has been a strong, effective administrator, particularly in the areas of fiscal management, strategic planning, and careful attention to detail,” said Mayor Stromberg in a statement released to the press. “Now, however, we’ve mutually recognized that as the City enters an era of new and different challenges, it’s time for new administrative leadership of the City.”
