Ashland, Ore., — A PRIDE! Parade in Ashland this morning was just one of the many events in the Rogue Valley this past week put on by the Southern Oregon Rainbow Coalition.
2016 has been both an exciting year for the LGBTQ community, but also a devastating one.
So the theme of the parade was strength, courage and resilience.
The parade is meant to be a community building festival that celebrates the LGBTQ in Southern Oregon.
“I think just the overall community, and how excited everyone is to be here and how accepting everyone is of each other, I think it’s really beautiful.” said one parade attendee, Isabella Thatcher.
The events continue tonight with a “Glowing With PRIDE!” dance at Elks club in Ashland at 7 pm.
And tomorrow there is a LGBTQ Veterans Coffee at the Stevenson Union at Southern Oregon University at 10 am, and PRIDE movie matinee at the Varsity Theater in Ashland at 3 pm.
