Ashland soon to own Acid Rock Castles

Ashland, Ore. — Residents will soon be the owners of a popular hiking destination.

Acid Rock Castles has provided panoramic views of the city for decades. It even gives access to other hiking spots and trails as well.

Ashland Parks and Recreation will purchase the spot for $360,000. They said once the purchase goes through, it will be open to the public immediately.

“It’s  a very unique place and i think it will make a very good addition to ashland parks and recreation’s properties,” Michael Black said, director of Ashland Parks and Recreation

As far as how much work the spot will need upon purchase, Ashland Parks and Recreation said other than a few minor maintenance tasks here and there – the property is ready to go.
