SISKIYOU COUNTY, Calif. – Crews were able to halt the growth of a wildfire burning north of Yreka.
The fire started near Badger Mountain Road and Hawkinsville Humbug Road on Saturday.
An evacuation warning was in effect for residents in the area, but it has since been lifted.
By Wednesday morning, the fire was 50% contained and 557 acres in size. On Thursday, the acreage remained the same, but containment increased to 65%.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
