Beer and chip trucks collide on Florida highway

0323 chips and beerBrevard County, Fla. – Two trucks collided on a Florida highway early Wednesday, one was carrying beer, one was carrying chips. The crash left the highway littered with Doritos and Busch Beer.

The Florida Highway Patrol said that just after 3:30 in the morning, a Frito Lay truck stopped on the shoulder of the road due to mechanical problems. A semi-truck was trying to avoid another vehicle when it swerved into the Frito Lay truck, causing it to overturn.

Sergeant Kim Montes, a spokeswoman for the Florida Highway Patrol, told NBC News, “Neither driver was hurt, but you had Doritos and Busch Beer all over I-95. That’s like a Super Bowl commercial right there.”

Police say the semi-truck driver was ticketed for failure to maintain a single lane, the other driver was not charged.

A front-end loader was brought in to clean up the beer and chips, but they couldn’t be salvaged.
