Bend childcare provider arrested for child neglect

Bend, Ore. – A Central Oregon daycare provider was arrested for leaving 7 children under her care at her home while she went to a tanning salon, according to police.

On Wednesday, Bend Police said they received an anonymous tip that 31-year-old January Neatherlin (a.k.a. January Livsy) was leaving young children alone in her daycare.

Following the tip, officers began watching January’s residence on Blue Bush Court in Bend.

Detectives watched numerous children getting dropped off at the home. After a couple of hours, January left the residence in a vehicle.

Police said January was contacted at a local tanning salon. She did not have any children with her.

According to the Bend Police Department, a surveillance team at January’s residence believed there were at least four infant children inside. Officers knocked on the door for several minutes with no one answering.

Police said they eventually entered the home and found seven children inside with ages ranging from 6-months to 4-years-old.

January was arrested and charged with theft by deception, 7 counts of child neglect, 7 counts of reckless endangering and 7 counts of criminal mistreatment.
