Brookings, Ore. – Brookings Police said an investigation began in August after local authorities received a tip that child pornography was being distributed from a location within the city of Brookings. Investigators began gathering evidence in order to obtain a search warrant.
On November 8th, police officers executed the search warrant at an apartment in the 600 block of 5th Street in Brookings.
The Brookings Police Department said they found evidence that shows 30-year-old Brookings resident Thomas Christopher Vaiasicca possessed and sent a number of photographs involving small children involved in sexual acts.
According to detectives, the photos appeared to have been taken in foreign countries. They do not believe that there are any local victims.
Vaiasicca was taken to the Curry County Jail and charged with encouraging child sexual abuse in the first degree, and two counts of encouraging child sexual abuse in the second degree.
Police said the investigation is ongoing and charges may be added.
