Update (03/22 12:15pm) — The Grants Pass Department of Public Safety said in a press release that they received an anonymous tip that Alexander M. White may have been responsible for a Subway restaurant robbery in Grants Pass earlier in March. Police added that White was actively being sought as a person of interest in a March 17 Papa Murphy’s robbery in Grants Pass.

Officers say that the two additional Subway restaurant robberies that occurred on Monday in Medford and Brookings were similar in execution to the previous crimes, and the suspect had a similar description as well.

According to police, the case detective from Grants Pass began working with multiple agencies in an attempt to locate White. Officers eventually located a vehicle that was associated with White at a Gold Beach Motel 6. He was found in a hotel room and taken into custody without incident.

Grants Pass Police say that it is likely that additional charges of robbery in the first degree will be filed in Josephine County for the Subway and Papa Murphy’s robberies. Medford Police are also actively investigating their case.
