Cleveland Ridge Fire 70% Lined

NEAR TRAIL, ORE. – The Cleveland Ridge Fire burning near Trail has spread to 250 acres and is 70% lined as of Tuesday morning. The portion of the fire that remains unlined is not near any homes and no structures have been affected.

A large plume of smoke could be seen in the valley after the fire broke out around 3:30 Monday afternoon. A tanker and three helicopters responded to the blaze.

This morning multiple agencies throughout the valley are working to contain the fire, including Jackson County Fire Districts 4, 5 and 3, Medford Fire & Rescue, Jacksonville Fire Dept. and Ashland Fire Dept., among others. Firefighters will also be assisted by inmate crews and private contract crews.
