Ducks move on to Elite 8

Eugene, Ore.- Oregon is heading to the Elite 8 for the second year in a row. The Ducks defeated the University of Michigan in a Sweet 16 thriller Thursday night.

Oregon defeated Michigan 69 to 68, ending the Wolverines’ “Cinderella run.” Michigan had not lost a game since a plane carrying the team skidded off the runway at Willow Run Airport in Ypsilanti, Michigan and crashed across the street.
Tyler Dorsey led the way for the Ducks by scoring 20 points, including the game winner. Missed free throws down the stretch almost proved costly for the Ducks.
Michigan’s Derick Walton, Jr. missed a three pointer at the end of the game that would have given the Wolverines the win.
Oregon will go on to face the number one seeded Kansas Jayhawks Saturday for a spot in the final four.
