Fallen runner honored at annual Valentine’s Day 5k

LOVE STINKS 5K PICPhoenix, Ore. — Over one hundred people came out for the annual Love Stinks 5K run, and the Couple’s Shuffle 10K this year, honoring avid runner Todd Ragsdale.

The Valentine’s Day themed event have been around since 2004, and organizers say it was one of Ragsdale’s favorites. This year, a moment of silence was held to honor him, and others lost in the running community this year.

“I think the efforts you see, both with the t-shirts that were created, and just the various things that came together for the race and the group of people that we see is just amazing,” Justin Rosas said, President of Southern Oregon Runners.

Search crews found Ragsdale’s body one week ago in the Ashland watershed, after he didn’t return home from a run in Lithia park. A Go Fund Me account has been set up for his family. For more information, click here.
