Oregon State Police said on evening, a Nissan Versa driven by 84-year-old Grants Pass resident George Kachigian was traveling northbound on I-5 between Wolf Creek and Grants Pass. At about 5:51 p.m., Kachigian lost control of the vehicle and crashed into the center median near milepost 71.
The Versa overturned and came to rest on the shoulder of I-5.
Rural Metro Fire said Kachigian was “unrestrained” and was found ejected from the vehicle.
Kachigian sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. He was reportedly the only occupant of the vehicle.
