Medford, Ore., — Today kicks off fire prevention week statewide, and Medford Fire Rescue wants you to be prepared.
This years theme is “Don’t Wait – Check The Date” — a reminder to replace your smoke alarms every 10 years.
Medford Fire Rescue says last year, 77-percent of structure fires were in residential areas or single family homes.
In one-third of those fires, smoke alarms were not present.
